National Philanthropy Day 2026
Description
Celebrate National Philanthropy Day with Us – November 12, 2026
National Philanthropy Day (NPD) is more than a celebration—it’s a movement. Established in the 1980s by visionary philanthropist Douglas Freeman and officially recognized by President Ronald Reagan in 1986, this day honors the generous spirit that fuels positive change in our communities and across the globe.
Each year, NPD provides a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the power of giving. It recognizes the individuals, businesses, and organizations whose time, talent, and resources uplift others and strengthen our collective future.
Join us on Thursday, November 12, 2026 at House Three Thirty in Akron, as we celebrate National Philanthropy Day in Northeast Ohio! Our annual event honors outstanding philanthropists, volunteers, and nonprofit professionals who lead with compassion and vision. It’s a day to gather, be inspired, and shine a spotlight on those who are changing lives through generosity and service.
Hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Northeast Ohio Chapter (AFPNEO), this uplifting celebration is part of a continent-wide tradition—last year, more than 130 AFP chapters across North America held their own NPD events. Together, we raise awareness for the impact of philanthropy and foster a culture of giving that makes our world better.
Whether you're a fundraiser, donor, volunteer, foundation leader, or community champion—you’re part of this story. Come be celebrated, come be inspired, come be part of something bigger.
Save the date: November 12, 2026.
Let’s honor the heart of philanthropy—together.
